The Forestry Council continues to work with the BC Value Added Wood Coalition (BC Interior Lumber Manufactures’ Association, BC Independent Wood Processors Association and BC Wood), the BC Council of Forest Industries (COFI), and the BC Government on maximizing value to communities from the trees we harvest and to grow the value-added wood manufacturing sector in BC.
Our collective effort is now focused on bringing more people together to help develop solutions to meet those goals.
To achieve this, we will be hosting in person Regional Accelerator Tables in the North, South, and Coast areas in late November and early December 2023. These tables will bring together licensees, value-added wood manufacturers, First Nations, and the Province to work on solutions to sustain, diversify, and grow BC’s value-added sector.
Attendees of the Regional Accelerator Tables will have the opportunity to build upon or establish new relationships with others in attendance. Some of the registered attendees include:
- Multiple members from the Value-Added Coalition
- COFI members such as: Canfor, West Fraser, Conifex, West Fraser, Interfor, Gorman, Weyerhaeuser and Western Forest Products
- Primary producers such as Tolko Industries.
