The BC First Nations Forestry Council's Indigenous Forestry Scholarship Program is designed to provide support for First Nations, Inuit, or Métis Descent students interested in attending full-time studies in a designated post-secondary institution. The program is delivered in partnership with BC Timber Sales (BCTS), BC Wildfire Service (BCWS), Mosaic Forest Management, and Western Forest Products Inc., and the Indigenous Skills and Employment Training Program (ISETP).

The program provides Indigenous students with:

  1. Tuition and living scholarship
  2. Paid summer work-term experience and one-on-one mentorship with a program partner
  3. Support from your local Indigenous Skills and Employment Training Program (ISETP) centre






Fill out the intake form.

The Indigenous Forestry Scholarship Program (IFSP) for Indigenous students attending full-time studies in the following applicable areas:

  • Forestry Technician
  • Natural Resources
  • Environmental Technology 
  • Business Management 
  • Business Administration 
  • Geographic Information Systems 
  • Forestry Trades:
  1. Construction Millwrights and Industrial Mechanics
  2. Logging Machine Operator
  3. Skidder Operator
  4. Heavy-duty Mechanics


1. Fill out an intake form. Anyone interested in the Indigenous Forestry Scholarship Program must complete the intake form in order to receive their application.

2. Once you have submitted the intake form, our Workforce Advisor will get in touch directly with your application form.

3. Before sending your application in, compile all of the necessary documentations to go with the application (See page 1 of the application form for a list of documents you'll need to attach with your application).

4. E-mail your completed application to with all of the necessary attachments. (You can also submit your completed application by mail to 630 Shoreline Drive, Nanaimo, BC V9R 5A1)
